Deeper Love
We say I love you to those we love, yet do we understand?
I love you comes out without a second thought of why we say
But love isn’t just something we say as a verb
Love isn’t a thing, not a what of a word, but as a Who
Love is a living breathing extension of the Creator Himself
Who wants to flow through me and you
We say we want to love yet our actions speak differently
As if love is just a word we say, yet brush off like crumbs
How little we understand of what our Father holds most dear
Love isn’t a rope that we can offer to play tug of war in a game
Because the only winner left in this game is the rope as we fall
Love is a living extension of the hand of Jesus that offers hope
Next time we say I love you to a friend, family or stranger
Think of the Who we’re saying it for, think of who’s saying
I love you through the breath that gives you life
Deeper Love is something yet to truly understand
Because we have yet to learn the deeper Love of God
Even though we call the Love of God, our Savior
Love is another extension from the breath of Jesus Christ
That walks and talks through us to show Love is alive forever
Nothing is more powerful then Love, unless we keep it chained
