Newbie in a nutshell

Hello new friends I am a married housewife from NH, with no children yet. It looks to be setting up to be a Sarah situation ;) as my 47th birthday is fast approaching.
I patiently wait on Gods promise as spoken through a word of knowledge in March of 2001.
We have 4 cats and a European starling to parent for now.
I love to write, but seem to only be able to through pain....
I developed writers block at the age of 16 after a very dark spiritual attack, and surprisingly,
my brothers suicide tore open the seal that had kept me from writing for over 20 years.
Gods Grace and miracles have turned my pain to joy.
So here I am back again, unable to write.
During the time I was mourning the loss of my younger brother, I wrote half a book....
Hahaha...That's some accomplishment :cheers: sarcasm intended ;)
All hope is not lost though, that's why I chose the name Chrysalis.
Anyway, hope to enjoy this forum with all of you:)

You have had some very tragic things happen to you and it's wonderful to see how you've come through it. Have you thought about writing your memoirs?

I had the same experience with writer's block for a long time. I was only able to write through my pain as well. It can be very cathartic. Then I started reading some humorous literature (e.g. Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, etc.), and it helped to change that a lot. Now, I've written a few funny stories to add to my repertoire, but I still struggle with writer's block from time to time.

I second the welcome, with open arms. I believe that we are all faced with "Giants", some larger and different than others. Even David learned a lesson when facing his Girant or Demon. But contrary to popular belief, David did not just face one Giant...he faced many throughout his life. Whether you chose to go left or right at a fork in life's road you will sooner or later run into a giant, one or many. It's all in how you chose to face these Giants and once you do, you will find that you are stronger for it. You would not be who you are today without the obstacles you have overcome through strength and sheer strong will to live, divide and conquer that G-d placed in the hearts and souls of human beings, His greatest creation.

Have you ever heard of the use of a muse? Channel the pain, channel the heartache, the loss and the bits of happiness that peak like sun rays through dark clouds. Writing can be very mentally exhausting, when you are doing it right. It is true, the laughter as result of funny stories can be a good medicine, but my dear it is the heartache, the actual crying that can cleanse the soul of pain. I have written some things that have been so painful that I am mentally and physically drained when I am done. But the writing comes from the soul, and the heart of what you are feeling in that moment...don not try to write sad when you are happy, a vise-versa.

Wordsmith, the half book I wrote were my memoirs, that's where all the pain came from :)
