Unnerved Fear
I mock you…
Laugh in the face of pretension
It’s wicked to do so I know
at least it seems that way…
But it is the causer I affront in kind
Not the outer shell
The puppeteer…
Unnerved Fear4
We have been gifted A Rock
Upon which to stand
And choose out of desperation
To erect architectures grand
Following schematics
In constructs of man
Wings held together by wax
Melt too close to the sun
Best laid plans plummet
How many rest still shackled
At the bottom of the ‘see’?
How many fields of golden grain
Were once battlefields drenched in blood?
It is peaceful,
In the land inherited
Though a restlessness underlies unseen
Spectral Glimpses of repetitions
Of the same final motions
Echo through eternity
They do not know where they are
Nor have any recollection of who they once were
Only the clang of steel being stricken on anvils
Hoof-beats in the distance
As thunder rolls in
Hearts still racing
Pulses still quickening
Standing by hyper-vigilant
Fear all encompassing
Unnerved Fear3
Restless sleepers
Easily startled
With laden hearts
Who know not why
They weep
Unnerved Fear2

You read it, you will get the point just not yet.
How many times have you ever read something that you did not understand right away then suddenly out of the blue when you least expect it, lightning strikes...?
Some things are precisely like that, one does not need to understand if it is beneficial in any way it will be accessed if and when it is needed.

Ever solve a Rubik's cube? Did you do it on the first try?
I could tell you what this means to me but to someone else it may mean something entirely different.
The first time we ever opened our bibles many of us could probably not understand a single word.
Our own understanding is worthless.

John 3:16 seemed pretty straight to the point and even as a kid I got that.

The best laid plans end up in moths and rust. Written off projects, battlefields with bitter memories of loss. Still stubbornly holding on to man-made constructs. Knowing that they will eventually bring pain and failure. Fear devolving from man’s projects. We cringe. But self love for the race still discouraging us from hanging it all on Psalm 40 and the Rock. 1) I posted this on another site (C.C.W.) and someone was confused in reading it, in order to explain it would take a major long drawn out process, you got the “gist” of it Doug. But there is much more!
a.g.
2) The enemy of our lives is a “fear monger” just watch the news on any given night see the signs of the times. We are constantly bombarded by impending doom, the world falls into despair much as Martha did when her brother Lazarus died. In her heart she knew that if the Lord had come sooner he could have saved him from death’s grip. It was four days after Lazarus died when Jesus arrived at his tomb. Four days late to all witnesses but Jesus was right on time. No one understood what He was about to do nor could comprehend who He was fully. Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the Life”.
“Son of man can these bones live again?” There is no “life” in fear, only death.
Jesus said: “I am the way the truth and the Life”
This is the rest of the interpretation Doug.

[/list]

Probingvoice, I had just written this piece and didn't quite understand it myself...the understanding came much later but "right on time"

Remember..?  "Jesus wept"
The last line of this poem is: “who know not why they weep.” Those tears were tears of grief but became tears of jubilation “Lazarus come forth!”
And I knew not why I wrote this till I heard Doug's interpretation and The Holy Spirit revealed the message fully…and I could not help then but to weep.
(and still, there is more...)

God loves us.  And with God in my heart I will not be fearful.  You write of twisted brokeness and despair.  Maybe you should try writing about the light of the World and the joy that he brings.

I don't think i understand you, tell you what, why don't you write a poem and post it here and I will try to follow your fine example of how and what I should write?

You seem a bit "unnerved"

I trust your profound wisdom, correction and guidance in love will be well received and appreciated, I stand corrected, humbly I'm all ears go for it.
God Bless.

"The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:5
How many stars can you see in the light of day? Without the darkness, you cannot see the stars yet you know for a fact that they are there. Think you not that God is Lord whether in dark times of our lives or the brightest of days? We were made to endure pain and suffering, God does not keep it from us but walks alongside us through it. Should I write only of sunshine and rainbows?
Have you not read the book of Job?

Too many "probing voices" not enough hearing ears, "faith comes by hearing..."

Have fun reading there are about ten or so writings I have posted.  here is something new:

Man will stand before God and be judged.  One’s life can be prosperous on Earth; well educated, friendly, hard working.  But God will judge the heart and his relationship with you.  Your riches, trophies, fancy car or house will not help in the least.  Popularity in hell will not be cool.  God will remind you of the times he tugged at your heart; hopefully you will be able to say I abided in the Lord.  Pray that your heart does not turn to stone.  It is much better to be a bleeding heart for Jesus.

PostSubject: Re: Unnerved   Unnerved EmptyTue Jan 27, 2015 1:17 pm

I have been given a new heart after a heart attack a year ago(quadruple by-pass, survived kidney cancer, am diabetic, have degenerative disc disease and cannot fully take care of myself in addition to incontinence), unable to work and waiting now over 17 months for disability, I am without income, I receive assistance in food stamps and medicaid to afford the many medications required to keep this busted up old body going and yet...I've never been happier. By the grace of God every single need is being met in abundant provision. I have never been more at peace than living in the Blessed "Now" of the Lord.
Popularity is the very least of my concerns, material acquisitions the furthest thing from my thoughts. I have nothing...yet I have everything that is needed and then some in Christ Jesus my Lord and savior.

Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit"
I am but a servant, my gift is a ministry in poetry, I make mistakes I'm not perfect. But if you feel convicted in some way that was never my intent, far be it from me!
Only The Holy Spirit can speak to our consciences and convicts us when we stray from the righteous path.

You made assumptions, drew conclusions all within your "own" understanding...now you speak of a "peace" you do not comprehend. 1 thessalonians 5:3 "While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape"
Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding."
"Sounds good" you say...not everything that sounds good  to us within our own understanding is TRUTH.
God will give you all you need, satan will give you whatever you want...very often they appear to be exactly the same placating itchy ears. Without discernment that comes from only The Holy Spirit one can not tell the difference.

The peace I offer is genuine.  I do think you should work on relationship and love with others and God.  Maybe then you would find peace.

"I do think", says it all!
Not a bit concerned with your "I think"
And if having to have the last word is your idea of peace...so be it.
The last word is yours, have at it.
You said yourself "confused" while yet to two others this writing was crystal clear.
And from out of said "confusion" you wish to reason without a grasp of reason admittedly "confused". Argue your point for arguments sake making more and more a fool of yourself in the process. Love is truth and not just a word tossed around when it is convenient. You presume to know my relationship with God when only God knows the hearts of men. You have no peace in and of yourself to offer. One cannot impart what one does not possess.

You are indeed "confused" and misinformed and in turn misleading. You cite John 3:16 in one breath and then question the validity of the Revelation to John in your post in: General Discussion-Open Forum "revelation check"...whew!
Do you just pick and choose as it is convenient for you from the inspired word of G-d passed down through HIS prophets?

In a cup already full of self there is no room to receive.

You are much like the fowl hidden in the tall marshy reeds who when the hunters send in the dogs are flustered, lose their composure and fly out into the open and become easy targets for rifle shots. That is what this post was designed to do "EXPOSE" And the ruler of this world in all vain-glory, ego and pride must answer from within hiding. I forgive you, for you know not what you do...but the enemy of our lives is now exposed, what will you do? The enemy hates to be mocked and will reveal his hand every time in these cases.

WHICH MATTERS MORE, THE MEASURING OR WHAT OCCUPIES THE CUP?
Unnerved Half_f10

There...again I have tapped your knee with a rubber mallet now kick again like all of the other mindless reflex knee-jerks you have offered thus far. If you must sneeze, please have enough consideration to cover your nose.

"1 Kings 18:21 "...How long are you going to waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!..."
1 Kings 18:17-40
"Elijah challenges the priests of Baal to a contest
[*]450 priests of Baal make sacrifices, even hurt themselves, to get Baal's attention

  • nothing happens after several hours

[*]Elijah prepares his sacrifice

  • He pours water on it three times, and prepares a moat to keep the water in
  • This makes the offering difficult to set fire to

[*]Elijah calls on God once

  • The Lord sent fire which not only consumed the wet offering, but also all the wood, the stones, the very dirt under the alter, and also took all the water!

[*]The people recognize God and worship him
[*]They destroy all the false prophets who had led them into idol worship."

Read this...allow it to ruminate before firing off a quick reply, pray for understanding and wait on HIm for an answer, ask of the Spirit to open your eyes to The Truth if you truly are "saved" the answer will come for God is faithful.

Jesus went far out of His way for one, isn't that amazing! Praise be to God!
I didn't know why I was sent here until you stepped forward, I had been banned from this site and all of a sudden I had access...it "confused" me if I might quote you but now it is clear.
Much like the Gadarene stepped forward of his own will battling internally knowing Who stood before him.

PostSubject: Re: Unnerved   Unnerved EmptyThu Jan 29, 2015 11:44 am

Here's what Unnerved means to me:

Fear, which is the opposite of love, mocks us.
Not us, actually, but God's spirit within us.  It is God that fear fears.

God has gifted us with Jesus upon whom to take safety and refuge and courage.
But we have added so much man made nonsense to the Rock that there is now little room to stand.
He has become a precarious perch.

And because the perch is so precarious, we don't feel quite safe from the past, present and future rumblings of the evil one.
He sometimes still scares the p-o-o-p out of us.

And so we weep.  Because this is not the way it has to be.

So as long as we are free to read our own interpretation into it, then that is mine.  I rarely understand poetry, but bits of it here and there touch my heart and I appreciate those whose minds work in abstract ways.

You nailed it T.R.B. your Cupie doll is on the way, please allow 3-4 days shipping and processing for your prize to arrive:)
As did Doug, different aspects from different vantage points...not suspicious, paranoid, self-conscious "fear" responses but victory responses.
A combined effort by members of the body which could not have been achieved without the intervention of The Holy Spirit. Each an equal contributor for God's glory and not our own. Amen?!
Thanks to "probingvoices" for keeping the dialogue going to it's conclusion. this was a lesson for me as well and i am most humbly grateful. I did not know how this would end?

Romans 8:28 applies very well here.
As well as this: Genesis 50:20 "20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive."
Lesson over,
God Bless!
