DREAMING

One night as I lay dreaming

My pillow was wet with tears

My heart was aching

Counting through the years

Things just haven’t been the same

Since all those years have passed

Your voice and songs you wrote

Have never been surpassed

Though the group has missed you

They have carried on alone

Each month when they play

It’s with beautiful tone

The group gets smaller sometimes

But it grows anew

Each one who is not here any longer

We miss and it makes us blue

And so as I lay dreaming

Of the ones no longer here

My pillow gets soaked with tears

Because I miss them so dear

I wanted to hear our songs again

I wanted to hear your voice once more

But it’s not going to happen yet

Not until God says its time and knocks upon my door
