The Christmas choir,
The banquets and the books.
The Holy Cup,
The Holy Days,
The cheerful hugs and looks.
The mission trips,
The Pastor's quips,
And all the other fare.
I ask you, saint
With Gospel quaint
Would Jesus still be there?
Would Jesus still
Be there for you,
Your portion and your power,
Your daily friend
Right to the end,
Not just at worship hour?
Your inner voice,
In each tough choice;
Your solace in the test.
Unspoiled by sham,
The wondrous Lamb,
Your brightest and your best. |
