Strong & Courageous

They enter as children
Mere boys and girls
Then boot camp comes
And reality hits head on
 
Growing up way too fast
Off to defend our freedom
Seeing horrors that
Nightmares are made of
 
Most will return home
Some will not
Those that do
Will be changed
 
My heart swells
In my eyes
They will forever be
Strong and Courageous
