There's a battle that's raging inside of me and I don't know what to do Its been waged by our worst enemy Trying to steal me away from You. I'm getting tired and worn and beaten down I can't do this on my own I need to hear You tell me That I'm not fighting alone
On my own I don't have strength enough To resist the traps and snares That the enemy puts out for me And I'm feeling really scared. I don't want him to win this fight I want to stay with You So please hold me up And give me the courage to stay true.
I surrender here and now You can have control Of the vicious battle going on Deep within my soul. Let me hear you clearly As You stand here at my side Telling me "Don't worry, my child, I'll always help you fight."

Hey, if anyone thinks this poem needs any changes or has any tips on making it better, or has any advice on becoming a better writer in general, I would be very grateful. I'm always open to any and all suggestions. I want to use the talents God gave me to the best of my ability, so it would be great to have more experienced writers share thier opinions and advice.

Who are you writing for? Let that be your focus...to hell with critiques and opinions...if it is "Given" then it is "all good". God is the "giver" of all good things, welcome to C.C.W. Laura. As your listening and heeding increase so to will your writing, obedience is the most important discipline and key. Love ya'!
P.S., I like mushrooms and sausage on my pizza, most everyone loves pizza...who doesn't? Maybe you like a different combination of topping, it's all subjective isn't it?

Thanks. I guess that, while I appreciate others' opinions, really the only one that matters is God's. I'm writing for Him. I didn't really think of that before. Thanks for pointing it out!
Oh, yeah, I like mushrooms and sausage on my pizza too!

Tomorrow I might like peppers and onions but I will always love pizza and I will always love Christ, who "loved us first" :)
We must take all of our "so called" failures to God, seek our guidance from him first and foremost. Consider the following link from a shared blog "Salvoesinfaith":
A quote from this of some remarkable significance. "Feeling like a failure, the man decided maybe that’s what he should do. However, he thought that since God had asked him to do this task, he would take his failure to God and see what God wanted him to do."

Wow! Absolutely love that story! Its so powerful, and very true. God asks us to do something specific, but doesn't always tell us we will succeed or not. I'm going to keep on writing for him and sharing it with others and to heck with what the world thinks! Maybe I don't think that I'm that great at writing, but God can be using that to make me stronger. I hope that makes sense.

Go right ahead and keep 'em coming! I'm not crying uncle for a long time...lol! I can always use stories that encourage me and keep me growing in my walk with God. I have heard the story of the pot several times but its one of my absolute favourites. Love it!!!!!! :)

BTW, I just took a leap of faith and posted a short story under the fiction short stories. Took me a year to fine tune it, but I'm not stressing over it anymore. It may have flaws in it or not....who cares? I did my best!! That's all God cares about!

You received some great Valentines gifts from the maestro OEW. He would not invest had he not seen a well disked field of faith. Poetry means you get to choose the topic cadence format and purpose. Take a gander over at Stuff That Rhymes (google search).
