Rest is the goal
And rest is the promise
First to let go
Of a fool’s unbelief
Doubting and nixing
The God of the Heavens
Brought only heartache
And buckets of grief.
Thanks to that neighbour
Whose smile
Long disturbed me
Spoke of a Christ
Who made all things anew.
Family and function
And purpose a-plenty
That which once
Bothered so
Found to be true.
