But I like it here
Pretty sunlit country jaunts
Children’s laughter at play
Hallowed moments neath stained glass
My love’s whispers soft
And just for me
Warm remembrances
Of needed counsel.
But You tell me firmly
All is fleeting
Wickedness abounds
And godless frolic
Touts “Come …play”
While fires already begun:
Rapine, oppression, blood
Thievery and darkest lies.
“Keep short accounts Son
Stay clean and repent
If at all in doubt.
Remember…That which is not
Of faith is sin (Romans 14)
And you do have
A deposit of My Nature
To hear, restrain, react.
That deposit longs for Another City
Quickly it comes.”
