That this world is fallen and lost
There is no rhyme or reason in it
This is satan's domain and dominion
He is ruler here for a designated time
There's no getting around that
That nothing anyone can say or do will change that
That prayers to the "unseen" are indeed heard
But for now can change nothing
All is lost...that is very plain
The idealist and the faithful
will pay the highest cost
I Believe...
That I have believed
I believed...
In what I have not seen
Have shouted from rooftops
what had been whispered in my ears to no avail
I believe in a time of "a strong delusion"
I believe that this is now the time we are in
Belief is in vain and irrelevant now
and only madness prevails
The many times I should have died but didn't,
were not by blessing or mercy at all
To have been allowed to leave,
would have been more humane
I believe some of us are "chosen",
Chosen to undergo cleansing by fire and pain
I Believe...
You will return
I Believe that only You can restore sanity
To a world gone insane
In the interim...
Though I search my heart for You,
I no longer know,
what to believe.
