More well attuned
to it's humble purpose
by design Divine
than eye
fish 
 Fish that dwell
deep in caves
a forsaken need
to see
fish 
 Where they live
is neither Heaven nor Hell
born without sight
never to glimpse light
cannot lament
something never shone
fish 
 A steady rain
breaks the silence
sound and ripples
keep senses
well honed
fish 
 Dripping from saline fangs
the only sky unseen
they've never known
fish 
 The light seems irrelevent there
in that forlorn serenity
a pool of tranquility
in dark, beyond dark, beyond dark
fish 
 Yet...
even there
like a tender whisper clear
living neon flit about
fish
Bio-luminescense shines bright
revealing a treasure trove
of haunting beauty
in Glorious hues of rainbows
fish 
 Stoic towers stand guard
ever vigil
mimics of ancient temples
in accumulated layers
of water, minerals, salt
fish 
 suspended upside down
static stalagtites
mistaken for
twinkling Firmament.
