Paganism is consuming attitude to God incompatible with the commandment: "Love your God with all your heart...", in other words, selflessly. But pagans are always awaiting something from God. For pagans, God is a tool, a means of achieving benefits -earthly or otherworldly. The bearer of these benefits can be only almighty God. That's why pagans are so desperately cling to a false image of the almighty God and will never accept the true Iow-powered God, from which you expect nothing.
