Hopeless desperation
Is what I feel tonight
There is no escape
From this ongoing plight

Darkness surrounds me
Empty and cold
It begins to seep in
To the depths of my soul

What will it take
To find some reprieve
From this hollow existence
Filled with such grief

I call out Your name
Though my heart beats in fear
Am I too far gone
Or my cry, will You hear

“I will never forsake you,”
Comes the reply
“For you and this moment
Are the reasons I died.”

Taking His hand
As tears stain my face
I now feel the warmth
Of my Savior’s embrace

The darkness recedes
As joy floods my soul
Thank You Sweet Jesus
For making me whole

I love how most Christians can relate to this in one way or another, everyone has that hopeless depression at one time in their lives or another. But we have to always turn to Him, because only He can save us from it.
