Telling the Truth is Best for Kids

We had a family meeting
Yesterday or day before
And my parents told me
I shouldn't lie anymore.
They caught me in a whopper
A fib, an untruth-a lie
And it really was embarrassing
The outcome made me cry!!
It was just a slight exaggeration
When it first began
But it soon began to grow
And with dishonesty I ran.
Soon it was pure fiction
That could have been a movie
And when it started out
I just wanted to seem groovy!
It’s a myth that lying is fun,
Harmless nonsense, a game;
For I found out the hard way
That lying is really lame!
