As you’ve gathered by now, I firmly believe that America is in her “fall” side of the rise and fall of the USA. What we’re witnessing is the final arrangement of the chess pieces before the Day of The Lord. We don’t know if it will come next week or in another thousand years, but it’s safe to say that world events... |
Release. There are many forms of release that we face and deal with throughout our lives. Each form representing something different. Yet, how we define it in any given situation is what makes the difference. There are releases of fear, joy, excitement, wonder, sadness, purpose, trust, change, and accepting. Based on the matter at hand at the time deems one of these forms of release. It can also represent challenge. Challenge when we struggle with allowing ourselves to release what needs to be let go. We try to fight it thinking we know what is best and yet without allowing ones... |
http://itch2write-writersblock.blogspot.com/Thursday, September 26, 2013 Loving the Lost into the Kingdomhttp://itch2write-writersblock.blogspot.com/Being a Christian on a very secular college campus on the “Left” coast is not exactly a walk through the tulips. There are days, even weeks, where my very spirit is twisting and turning in agony. Some days, it feels like my tiny little prayers get sucked up into a bubbling, oozing tar pit of decay, and other days I can... |

I blame Labor Day. If we had no holiday to mark the end of practical summer, we’d hardly notice its passing. September would give us 30 days to make the transition (maybe 31 in Indiana, I never could figure out their time zones). We’d begin the month in shorts an T-shirts, end it in flannel jammies... |
Change, there are different facets of this word. We all face change, except change, live with change, and deal with change. However, how do will process change. It can be a positive or negative depending on the situation at hand. No matter what that situation is we still must process it. That has been the theme of my life , and in that each aspect of change has arisen. In facing change, I have had surgery that has caused me to face a lifestyle change. My battle with weight started in junior high and has been a constant battle for most of my life. To my shame at graduation... |

While most writers who attend such conferences make some connections, get some manuscript requests from editors and agents, and learn a bit more about their craft, I think most of them will also admit that the primary reason for attending such a conference is to meet and hang out with a group of people who share their passion. |
Found at: http://ronestradabooks.com/2013/09/10/no-fiat-god/No fiat God September 10, 2013 by Ron Leave a Comment I remember the first time I heard the term “fiat currency.” I asked my economics instructor, “So currency only has value because we believe it has value?” “That’s correct,” he replied. I pushed. “So what happens if the entire country just stopped believing a dollar had any value?” He smiled. “Hope you’ve stocked up on chickens.” I still find this concept amazing. It’s almost like we’ve been fooled.... |
Found at: http://ronestradabooks.com/2013/09/06/the-peril-of-young-knights/The Peril of Young Knights September 6, 2013 by Ron Leave a Comment Do you ever wonder how we survived childhood? I mean, really, can there be a more hostile environment on this planet than the gym locker room in a junior high school? Maybe that’s why the educational masterminds decided to change “junior high” to “middle” school. Maybe it sounded less treacherous. Kind of like changing the name of Sudan to…say…Happystan. They should try that. I’m sure it would work as well as... |
Found at: http://ronestradabooks.com/2013/08/27/it-is-what-it-is/It is what it is August 27, 2013 by Ron Leave a Comment A phrase I often hear in my engineering world is “it is what it is.” Meaning, essentially, that we have no control over the issue under consideration and that we must simply work as best we can around it. Most of us can relate. On a daily basis, we encounter any number of problems, some of which we can solve ourselves or with the help of others. Then there are those that fall under the “it is what it... |
What I know for sure is that without God being an active part in my life this year would have turned out different. His daily presence and taking the time to read his word and learning how to apply it on a daily basis has helped to know he is real and he does care. Taking time to pray and share my heart and confess my shortcomings and seek strength and wisdom is all part of this daily process.
What I know for sure is that true friendships are hard to come by, but when you have them, they need to be cherished. They are there to help, encourage, teach and train us on our path to being... |

There are certain's in life that we all will face. One way or another our lives will be touched by them. Certain that we will have needs to be meet, certain that we will pay taxes, certain that we will face the lose of a loved one, and certain that we will make mistakes. Flawed, a word that we do not commonly use in our daily language. Yet, it is something that is a part of life. All of us are flawed. We are human, and in that we make mistakes. We hurt people in our lives, and that hurt can not only effect the person it is directed toward, it may also effect those... |
John 7: 1- 5 (NCV) After this, Jesus traveled around Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because some evil people there wanted to kill him. It was time for the Feast of Shelters. So Jesus' brothers said to him, "You should leave here and go to Judea so your followers there can see the miracles you do. Anyone who wants to be well known does not hide what he does. If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." (Even Jesus' brothers did not believe in him.)

There are weeks when you feel like is there relief in sight. There are weeks were you wonder is it going to get easier anytime soon. There are weeks that seem to drag on and you wonder, really another day like yesterday. When does the break come, when does the relax come, were do I find that place of peace that once used to be so evident. That is what this week has been. A Calgon take me away moment has been a part of each day this week. This week was my week of wrestling, my week of battle and my week of weakness. Being focused on a daily basis has been a fight. Thoughts, emotions,... |

I find myself wondering what exactly it is I’m supposed to be doing with the time God has given me on this planet. I am a writer, despite my best efforts to claim a title attached to a more profitable lifestyle. Yes, my degree says “engineer” and that’s... |
It has been several weeks since my last pen. With all that has been going on it has been hard to put into words all that has taken place. The mind can store and hold much knowledge, with that comes the gamete of every type of emotion you can imagine. We never imagine having to lose people we love and are dear to our heart. And to lose two in less than a two week period plays with the mind. On top of that my mother being in the hospital and then having a heart cath the same week, it has been a whirlwind of trying to maintain. In the mist of these events, my co-workers boyfriend... |
The world spins and we revolve with it. How are we revolving. Are we revolving into the positive that life can bring. Are we revolving into the lessons we are taught to help us change and mature. Are we revolving into the despair of life and not seeing the good in each day we are blessed to have. The reality is that each of us have revolved into one of these at some point in our lives and we will do so again. Why, because we are human, we have feelings and when we are dealing with those feelings and allowing ourselves to dig deeper into ourselves this will happen. Here's the thing... |

The Elite Writer-Gardener-Fisherman by Ron I officially planted my first heirloom garden this weekend. During a jog one day, the Lord began to speak to me. (I hate to admit it, but it’s one of the few times He has my undivided attention.) Like I was saying, the Lord was bending my ear during a good sweat because for the longest time I was feeling static and even useless as a Christian. It seemed no matter how hard I tried, I haven’t been able to connect to my Lord. You know what I mean by connecting to Him? Like when you feel the very presence of God enter the room, He practically suffocates you with His love, and He leaves you feeling like a pile of jelly lying on the floor. |
Tragic Scenes by Ron Estrada http://ronestradabooks.com/2013/04/16/tragic-scenes/Tragic Scenes
As Christian writers and readers, we have a responsibility to show the light of Christ in a fallen world. The irony is that, in our quest to uphold what is right and can save the world, we will be identified as the hindrance to a peaceful, just society. Ours is a task of self-destruction. We patiently watch the chaos unfold daily around us, speaking the truth and taking the hostile rebuttal from a majority that cannot bear to see the light. I did not say anything on facebook or Google+ about the incident in Boston... |
"God Loves You Even When You Blow It...""God Loves You Even When You Blow It..."
Lord, I'm so grateful for your faithfulness, for never leaving us when we blow it.
I know of nothing else in this world that creates greater security than realizing how faithful God's love is towards us even when (especially when) we make huge mistakes.
It's true!
We can be confident we are loved regardless if we "get it right" or not because God's love for us is not based on how we perform or... |
"Is God Speaking to You?" by Neil Vermillion http://www.neilvermillion.com/blog/ Is God Speaking To You? by Neil Vermillion
Do you ever feel like you’re hearing things from God, but you just not quite sure?
This is common, and happens to everyone.
At some point along the way we feel like God is speaking to us, showing something, telling us something, revealing his plans, etc., and some how we fall into a bit of doubt. We start feeling like it should be different or things weren’t exactly as I thought they were and we fall into unbelief and doubt that we were hearing... |

imageGina Conroy, who shall henceforth be known as Super G on this here blog, posted in Writer...Interrupted this week about her struggles as a "left behind" writer. She and I have shared this same experience. We began writing years ago and found other newbies to hang out with (albeit electronically) and encourage. However, life happened, we took a step back, slowed down, even stopped, only to watch our new friends pass us by on the road to publication.
We're not jealous of our friend's success. I remember the day Robin Miller (aka Robin Caroll)... |

A blog filled with poetry and short storieshttp://forthisisthetime.blogspot.com/The poetry I write comes from my life, my experiences and my heart. As a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and so much more I've seen and been through a lot to get where I am today. While most poems I write are raw emotion, they still reflect the honesty in are feelings, and how God uses us most when we get to that honest place within ourselves. |
A post I was led by Holy Spirit to enter on my blog (http://burningfireshutinmybones.wordpress.com/) this morningYou keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalm 56:8 NLT)
I just read a beautiful, heartfelt post from Jodi Karren this morning, and one verse of her prayer spoke to my heart, and I need to share it this morning. It’s one of those words that the Lord sometimes gives that just burns within you until you release it.
I remember as a child, willing myself not to cry when I was cursed, rejected, beaten or abused, sometimes I was successful, while other times, I was unsuccessful in my endeavor to... |

My friend and I have the same core beliefs (Christianity) but differ on some of the "smaller" views. However, he has been a huge help to me as we challenge each other and grow in our faith. We began writing a blog together, sometimes writing our own posts and sometimes writing a post together. Lately he has done many more posts than I have as I took some time off to get married and all that but our blog covers so many topics and we are really just sharing thoughts to start conversation. The nails placed in his hands and feet Crown of thorns upon his head pain filled eyes gazing out upon us. My soul within me cried in agony as my eyes watered with my tears Then, Then he raised his head just a bit looked straight into my eyes and I felt the pain of the nails wrap around my soul the words wafting through my ears “I go to my Father’s house to prepare a place for you” I knew then the precious blood of Jesus washed away my sins and the nails in my soul would be my reminder each... |
sinners, my walkWHY ME ???
Posted on October 5, 2012 1 Vote How many times in my life and you in yours asked this question? Generally we say it this way: “why me lord?” I believed for the longest time that He answered with “because you deserve it.” Now I know that wasn’t really God saying that to me, more like Satan, but I believed it, I truly believed because of all my sins I didn’t deserve God’s Love or forgiveness. Why would He want me to be part of His crowd? Besides I wasn’t ready to be a “Bible thumpin, glory hallelujah person... |

Faithwalk@angchroniclesEvery Wednesday I post Faithwalk@angchronicles. Faithwalk is my everyday walk. Sometimes humorous, sometimes introspective, and others heart wrenching, but always true, candid, and honest. This walk is through the valley, across hills, and atop mountains. There will be some winding roads on the journey; I’m sure.

My own Boo Radley while growing upMy mother has always said: Everyone has a story. Man, have I found that to be true! Do you watch people around you, really watch them? Do you listen though, as they speak? This perhaps is most difficult to do. For I think when we pause, letting another person tell you their story, then we can truly walk a bit in their shoes, seeing where they come from. He was the strange man in the neighborhood. People referred to him as "mildly retarded" in those days. It was back in the late sixties. I was eight years old. My girlfriend and I would be playing outside. Whether it... |

My mom has the beginnings of Dementia....but we can still laugh We live our lives in a hurry. Our childhood rushes by in a blur of smudged sidewalk chalk, scabby knees and sleepovers. The teen years flow into adulthood through acne covered angst and countless nights of wondering if the phone will ring. So when did I get to this age? This so-called mid life age? Wasn't my mother always supposed to be the protector, the grown up? When did she become so fragile, so broken, salt and pepper hair thinning, skin beginning to crinkle? Wasn't she always going to be there for me? I need you now mom. I am baking Easter Bread. Don't you remember... |
