Acceptable reasons for divorce? Empty
PostSubject: Acceptable reasons for divorce?   Acceptable reasons for divorce? EmptyFri Sep 26, 2014 12:36 pm

I want to know exactly what is an acceptable reason to get a divorce. I've heard that in the OT you could get one in cases of infidelity, abandonment, and abuse, but Jesus made it extremely clear that you only can if your spouse cheated on you. Otherwise, if you get divorced and marry someone else, you're BOTH considered adulterers. I don't think this is fair at all. What if your spouse is physically abusing you to the point that you fear for your life? I don't see why it should be considered a sin if you want out of that relationship.
