We cried out to You o’ Lord
We asked You to deliver us,
But You heard us before we cried out,
You pulled us from the pit before we knew we had fallen.
Your deliverance came with the price of blood,
Not the blood of your enemies, but the blood of your son,
He carried the burdens of this world like he carried the cross on his back
Like a lamb he was led to the slaughter.
He asked for our forgiveness when we screamed for his death,
He gave us healing when we brought him pain,
We were blind to his love,
We were deaf to his message.
But by his love our iniquities were forgotten,
Our scarlet sins were washed white by his blood,
Not one fault is left when love has its way,
Not one cry is forgotten when you cry out love’s name.
So we turn our eyes to the messiah,
We open our hearts to his love.
He sets a path for our feet,
He gives us a reason to believe.
