a bird landed on my head today... Th410

If i'm being completely honest...
how many times have i thought...
"a lot of good this has done for me...?"
even as i struggled to pray
how convenient it seems to forget the times that favor smiled upon me
in the past...
and today?
well today just seems devastatng...
I can't see past the hurt and pain of now...unbearable!
i'm floundering...
and the cross i once cleaved to
is a garment shrunken to the point of becoming unwearable
this is the best i have to offer right now...
how pathetic?

i was spreading bird seed across the railings of the back deck...
as i do several times of day
and thousands of times before
when suddenly i heard a loud fluttering of wings behind me...
and then..?

in any event i was so startled,
i forgot my misery for a moment
i'll take that as a sign...
i certainly will:)

(in case your wonderin'...no the bird did not poop on my head...probably deserved it, in fact i'm sure i did...but no:)

Am reading this with some difficulty. Nevertheless filled with natural wonder and Creator's whispers.

The tri focals are already in place. It is now the short attention span and the diapers causing distraction.

                 "24 Days Being God-Aware"

This poem is a tribute to one of America's flying greats.
His successes were by some Power greater than fate.
A Congressional Medal of Honor in 1931, he received.
For staying alive, he thanked God in whom he believed.

Eddie Rickenbacker was America's WW l flying ace.
He shot down 26 enemy aircraft with amazing grace.
After the war his success journey was just beginning.
God wanted him in the public eye to keep on winning.

He became owner of the Indianapolis 500 Racetrack
And made president of Eastern Airlines, back to back.
God had plans to make him and seven others His men.
In 1942 he was on a special WW ll mission when...

The plane out of fuel went down over the vast Pacific.
Eight men on two rafts stranded for 24 days, so horrific!
They rolled and wallowed over crests into troughs.
Rick kept the men together, encouraging somehow.

All began to believe in the Bible and God and prayer.
For the need of Divine intervention they were aware.
Every day they joined the rafts in a prayer meeting.
They prayed the Our Father and scripture reading.

Every day they would pray and read Mathew 6: 31-34:

"Therefore, take ye no thought, saying:
What shall we eat? or What shall we drink?
Or, wherewithal shall we be clothed?
For these are things the heathen seeketh.
For your Heavenly Father knoweth
That ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
And His righteousness; and all these things
Shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow;
For the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own."

They were very hungry and thirsting for some water.
The Lord's breakthrough came: a special prayer order.
They prayed for 20 minutes for a seagull to land.
You would have to believe in miracles to understand.

Remarkably one landed on Rickenbacker's head.
He seized it; it was bait for fish upon which they fed.
Then a fleecy white cloud darkened by the second.
Rain was an answer to prayer; it had been beckoned.
