| Mommy Don't Wake Me for School Tomorrow
Don't wake me for school tomorrow 'Cause I know I will be ill. There's no need to call the doctor Or to give me a big ole pill.
I think I feel a fever coming I can feel it on my brow Don't ask me how I know it 'Cause I just can't tell you how.
I think I feel a headache And yes, a toothache too. (I'm glad that we had yesterday For our fun trip to the zoo.)
Don't wake me for the school bus Because I could not bear to get inside It's awful hard to feel so sick And have face that bumpy ride.
Don't wake me for breakfast 'Cause I probably should sleep in Until I am much better And feel like going to school again.
Please call my teacher and tell her That I'm sick and need my rest And I'm so very sorry To have to miss my History test. Thena |

| I suffered from panic attacks and anxiety through all my school days, it feels now like i was never really there. It went undiagnosed felt like heart attacks thought i would die, had no idea what was going on in me felt like i was losing my mind. I tried EVERYTHING I could not to go! I used to cut classes frequently, show up just for exams and pass without studying.
Miss Thena, are you really this sweet? Sure you're not some big hairy plumber ghost-writer with a stogie sticking out the side of his mouth? You can't be real, no one is this nice. Will you adopt me? God Bless.

| You better believe she is. I want to be adopted too. Your poem is so adorable, my kids will get a kick out of this one! Maybe it will get them more interested in reading. It is so much fun reading it.
I can't imagine what it would be like to experience a panic attack at so young an age oneagleswings. I am so grateful the Lord has delivered you out of that living hell, because the work you create for the Lord now is so beautiful. |

| I went to school sick so I would'nt have to stay home. Sometimes what you face at home is worse than school ever thought about being. I really liked the poem though it felt light hearted and so very real. Thanks, God bless and keep you Jan P |

| I never had the guts to lie about being sick. My mother knew how to make me miserable when I messed up. She was a good mom, she was always on her toes. I couldn't get away with anything. |

| My mom was like that too. The one day I tried to play sick, she made me stay in bed all day. LOL It was no fun back in the 1950's with no gadgets to play with or TV in kids' rooms, etc. LOL
