Lord, I sing My Song to You

Lord, I sing my song to You,
I lay it at Thy feet.
Only You can touch my voice
And make my words sound sweet.

I was self conscious about my voice and a friend convinced me
to sing on a Sunday morning in our tiny church because she felt
it would touch other people who felt like I did. I said this little poem before I sand
an old hymn "Have Thine Own Way".

Miss Thena, last time I sang I got chased by a moose up into a tree.

Awe, Thena, I wish I had been there. I bet your poetry, at least, impressed them, not to mention you praise to the Father. And, oneagleswings, why am I not surprised. LOL

Can't carry a tune myself so of course I love to sing. I can harmonize with someone who can sing so I go once a month to my sisters house where a bunch of musicians and singers get together and jam with christian and bluegrass music. I sometimes sing with my sister. These people are not judgemental thank God. I have fun at it.

I think my complex began when I was in grade shcool and in a Sunday School class with 4 girls and they formed a girl's trio...LOL

I took voice lessons a few years ago with hubby and joined the choir to be in it with him but he and our daughter are good singers...he is a tenor and she is a high soprano. They both have the voice and the confidence to sing solos at church, etc.

I did co-write a Children's musical that was performed at church though...loved doing that.

When I am by myself I sing the old hymns...and with gusto! LOL

I bet you sing in the shower too. I could just imagine your voice echoing through the house.

I like to sing as well as write songs. It was when I tried to sing a particular song to a friend of mines, that I was told to keep to my writing and let someone else sing the lyrics. I have written song after song, but dare not try and read them in front of a crowd. I have to build my nerves back up. I think I sound a lot better when noone is listening. You have great courage. Don't loose it! Hopefully mines will return, but until then I'll just keep it on the paper. lol

I don't think the Lord really cares what our voices sound like anyways, after all He created them. He's just thrilled when we praise him in whatever way that is.

I think of myself as a joyful noise! :-)
