Our wings are bound

We rise, we fly, our eyes don't lie
They're the windows to the soul, and the soul doesn't die
Before and after earth, we're alive in the sky
and the moment of our birth is the beginning of goodbye

Heaven-sent, we're all meant to be
You're supposed to be you and I'm meant to be me
We're meant to be strong, guaranteed to be free
and this world is but a test for our eternity

From the womb to the tomb, our wings are bound
and temptation of damnation is an eery sound
but the loss on that cross brought us from lost to found
so we can once again fly over hallowed ground

One sovereign King laid down his crown
to give us back our chance to wear an angel's gown
and though we'll go under, we will never drown
for Christ rushes to the sound of an angel falling down
