God made little babies
So innocent and pure
And in our arms He placed them
To make them feel secure.
Their little eyes see love
As it shines to them through our eyes
And each day brings to them delight
With each adventure and surprise.
Their eyes see color as a plus
And view it with delight
They see each ethnic shade
As perfect and just right.
They look with lovelight shining
At those who tend their needs
The one who holds and cuddles
The one who clothes and feeds.
They look around at trees and flowers
And at each tiny shrub
And see in every bug like creature
Something worthy of a hug.
They see their homes as castles
Protected within and without
By a family that loves them
And that's all they care about.
Their little eyes light up
At simple little things
Like candy bars or chewing gum
Or little wind up trains.
Their eyes don't reflect stress and worry
When something turns out wrong.
They can be comforted
By a cuddle or a song.
Oh, that we as mature adults
Could only realize
That we should still see some things
Through our children's eyes!
