The Kids are on Time Out
The kids were home all day
And they got tired of play,
When much to my delight (not)
They began to fight.
I warned them once, then twice
That they had better be nice
But all good manners began to fail
And I cautioned them to no avail.
"You're on time out," I said
"And you will soon be off to bed
With no tv and you'll sit with me
Right here on the sofa instead!"
They didn't seem to mind at all
And continued to pick at each other
I know no other kids do this-
Aggravate a sister or brother?
Too late I realized my fate
And to correct it, I was too late.
As we sat I realized beyond all doubt
That I was the one suffering from their time out!
