A Conversation with God

I was struggling. I was depressed. There was no tragic trigger, or single event that caused my mental tailspin. It sprang to life in soil polluted with a toxic buildup of all the little spats, annoyances and struggles of everyday life. It's a time of transition in our household, and working through both personal and professional issues laid me low. My heart was powerless. I felt so alone. So, I prayed. Actually, I prayed by writing the chant below. Writing a prayer while chanting is a bit unorthodox I know; but to my astonishment, our loving Father answered my prayer. My "prayer" is below, followed by the reply that He typed through me:


It's not about me. It's about Him.

It's not about ME; it's about HIM!

It's NOT about ME; it's ALL about HIM!
It was never about me; it's always been about HIM!
It was NEVER about me; it's ALWAYS been about HIM!
It has never been about me; it's always been about HIM!
It has never been about me; it's always been about HIM!
It HAS NEVER been about me; IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT HIM!
It HAS NEVER been about me; IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT HIM, and it will be forever!
IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT ME; IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT HIM, THROUGHOUT ETERNITY!
IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT ME, AND IT NEVER WILL BE; FOR TIME ETERNAL, IT'S ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT HIM, AND IT SHALL ALWAYS REMAIN THUS!
It's not about me.

That's MY plan for YOU.
I LOVE you. Deeper than the deepest canyons of my earthly creation, wider than the heavens that soar above you.
I'm your father and I know what is best for you.
You aren't ready. But I will prepare you. Keep up the dialogue. Keep up the good work. Keep coming back.
Clean out your mind. Dust away the crumbs and cobwebs. As you do I will be there for you.
You are my child. You are my child. YOU are MY CHILD. Remember that I loved you first. and I love you the most."

I'm no prophet. I don't lay claim to any special hotline to our Dad. I'm just a regular guy, a sinner, who struggles with doubt, fear, and sin. His reply blew me away. I've never heard Him so clearly before, and I don't know that I ever will again. Nevertheless, I did; and the blessing that it's brought to my life is immeasurable. My God...OUR God is GOOD!

It's funny that you put this here now, because, for the very first time, I typed a prayer last night. My heart ached for someone, and I needed to keep my mind focused in prayer for him, so I typed it. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've had, because as I did it, he gave me a new tongue. It was completely different from the way I prayed in the Spirit before, and as I spoke, I was having a vision of the sounds I was producing typed out on paper before me just before I spoke them. My heart was filled with joy and peace for the person I was praying for. It was awesome.
