Ready

I’m getting a little tired of the world as it is today
I’m ready for Jesus to come back and run things His way.
I know it will be so much better than it is now
The reason I know is He gave us His vow.

I know He will come back when His time is right
But I am impatient to see Him, maybe tonight?
No one knows exactly when that will be
But the sooner the better as far as I can see

God has given us some good things to enjoy
Until He returns bringing His joy
Things of this world don’t mean much to me
I can take it or leave it that’s up to me.

Things seem to get worse with each passing day
Lord help me to know exactly what I should say
I know there are things that I don’t understand
But I really expect its part of Your grand plan.

We are merely mortals trying to understand
A power so much greater than anything on land
It’s hard to explain sometimes to those who do not know
That You are the very best hope for a world full of woe.

Lord, when you call me to come home
I want you to know I will never roam
I’m ready when you call me to Heaven above
Where I know your world is filled with your love

Help me be a witness to those who need you most
And give me the opportunity to help be your host
All I want to do God is glorify your name
So I can teach others how to do the same

I want to spend my time left in your service
Not to make anyone nervous
Just so they will know that time may be short
But you have provided the passport
