After a few different promptings, I have chosen one of the most inopportune time to dive back into writing. However, being directed to this site, I think it may be less painful than expected.

I am a homeschooling mother of three, one teenaged daughter, one almost teenage son, and an eight year old son as well. My husband is a law enforcement officer, and we are exploring starting a small group with our church focusing on II Peter 3:15 and II Timothy 3:16- 17.

As for writing, I love short stories, mostly fantasy, and a little sci-fi. I also have a few journal/devotional blurbs I write when something in particular has struck my fancy and pointed me to the Creator.

Most of my first postings will be old work, needing refinement, and I am desperately seeking constructive advise on how to make them better.

Hello Summer,

Welcome to Christian Creative Writers. I'm so thrilled you've joined us. I admire your homeschooling efforts, as that is not an easy job. This summer I've been hard at work trying to get my ten-year-old up to par for school next year, and I have a new found appreciation for homeschooling mothers. I look forward to reading your work and helping out where I can. I just love to help with critiquing and giving a helping hand to other Christian writers. Many precious blessings to you.

Thanks Lora, I am looking forward to some real feedback. So far, friends and family just reply, "Nice." But any time I try to publish or enter a contest, I get no where, so I know there must be something I should fix.
Hopefully, with active input, my writing output will start flowing again, because at heart I am a writer, and when I don't write, I don't quite feel like myself.

You're welcome. I know what you mean. It seems those who don't actually write themselves don't really get what it is you need from them when they read your work or they're afraid they'll hurt your feelings. I'm usually the only one who will give actual criticism on the site (although others will comment), but I have been trained to do it in college, and I think you'll get a lot of what you need from it. I'm a little busy today to do the actual critiques on your work, but I have started to read what you've posted and you are a very talented writer. I can see why others were urging you to continue your writing. I will definitely give you my critiques tomorrow though.
