When All is Said and Done

When all is said and done-
Oft times more has been said than done...

Perhaps someday in the future
Someone will rediscover the hard copies of books-
Maybe when their electronic reader is in the shop
Or the electricity is down and they are bored
Perhaps a small paper bound volume of poems
Will be found tucked away in a scrapbooker's attic
Or in a box of treasures of a favorite old aunt
Who used to love to share her thoughts in verse...
And just maybe a verse about h
er faith with rekindle
Something of that faith in them
Or something silly will make them laugh
And remember her strange sense of humor and silly giggle
Or maybe a sentimental verse will cause a tear
To trickle down a cheek and make them smile
And go back in their hearts to visit for awhile...
Perhaps...

I don't have to leave behind
Things thought to be profound
But only the truths I've found
To be important to me
As the person God created me to be.
From my heart I am called to share
The things God places there
And He knows the ones my words will touch
Because He loves them very much

I wish I were as smart as I wish I could be
As brilliant as I would like-
As bright as the bulb that lights up the room
When the sun hides out for the night.

I wish I were wise as I wish I were
With wisdom to daily share
I wish my wisdom would be so evident
That evil would have to beware.

I wish that God would see in me
The prayers that are deep in my heart
And answer those prayers and create in me
The person He meant me to be from the start.

People can like you
and not agree
with you
People can also agree
with you
and not like you
So don't choose
only those who agree
with you
to be your friends
And don't think
of those
who don't
always agree
with you
as enemies.

Oh, your words are always profound, not to mention touching and full of the Love of Jesus. You're right, you never know who we will touch.
