So many hearts were broken by words Back when our hearts were so tender. Most physical bruises healed in time Leaving those of the heart and those of the mind. Perhaps those who flung words heavy as stone Had suffered like injuries of their own And felt the need to be tough on others Not leaving stone free their sisters and brothers. God bless those whose hurts were so deep That even the memory can make them weep And help us to treat as the precious gifts they can be Words, Sweet words that can bless eternally. Thena Cullen Smith

Amen! Words can be so destructive. This reminds me of Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
