Prayer for Those Abused

Lord I lift up my prayers today
For those who are in distress
I know not what they need
But you know for them what's best.

I ask that you comfort each mother
Who tries to protect a child from harm
Who struggles to provide enough
To keep them fed and warm.

I pray for those women who suffer
At the hands of one abusive and unkind
Be with them and stop the abusers
For it’s not the relationship you designed.

For those who are in such painful situations
That they feel they can endure no longer
Please wrap your arms around them, Lord
And let them grow much stronger.

Please rescue those who call out to You
And restore their energy today
For all of those who need Your touch
In Jesus’ Name we pray.

Amen! A much needed prayer.

God bless those who are living in fear
Who cry out for help
And wonder "Does anyone hear?"
Bless those who live in an abusive home
With parents or spouse they fear
Please wrap Your arms around them
Let them know that You are near.
We hear about these cases every day
But sometimes we neglect to pray
We ask You now to free each child
Each spouse old or young
Send to them this very day
Someone who can make the pain go away,
Someone in authority as an answer to our prayer
Who can bring sweet release and comfort there.
We know not the names or the places
And haven’t seen their frames or faces
But we know we must do our part
And pray for those whom you place on our heart.

I had a normal childhood
And never was beaten or abused
Never was severely punished
Or in any way misused.
But there times in the evening
As my head upon my pillow rests
That I feel the prompting to pray
For those going through such evilness!
I have no first hand experience
But its as if I do
As I pray specifically
For those who are being abused.
If you are crying out to God
To rescue you from this plight
Know that He has believers around the globe
Praying for you each night.
We don't know how the answer will come
And at times it may seem as if it's late
For the big picture we can't see at all
But trust in God's timing to be right
And to bring you into His love so bright.
