I Gave a Speech Last Night...

I gave a speech last night
in front of hundreds of people.
I thought I would be nervous
but I wasn't.
I worked hard on writing a speech
but had one of those "tear up the prepared speech
and speak from the heart" moments.
I spoke about how we should not pray
just for our dreams to come true,
but for those dreams
that God places in our hearts
that are in accordance with His will,
for those to come true and those
that will be a blessing to others.
It's not What you believe
but WHO you believe in.
I spoke about how it came about
that I was published
after I retired
and not when I first asked God
for that dream 20 years before
but it was in His timing
and His timing was perfect.
My dream wasn't for fame or fortune,
not for money for books
but for the ability to share.
I have had the thrill of sharing,
haven't had fame or fortune
but the blessings that come
from sharing.
I don't know how my speech was received,
don't know if I got applause or not...
the doorbell rang and woke me ...
