Making the most of God's blessings! Empty
PostSubject: Making the most of God's blessings!   Making the most of God's blessings! EmptySat Nov 01, 2014 6:42 am

“So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.” (Mt. 14:20 NKJV).

Bible readers know for themselves the events when Jesus fed two large crowds. Out of those two incidents one is mentioned in all the four gospels. However, Matthew and Mark record the miracle moment in which the Lord fed 4000 men apart from the women and kids. In our scripture verse, we read about the leftover gathered while He fed 5000 men excluding the ladies and little ones who benefitted from our Lord’s providing grace.

If we read John 6:12, we can know that it was the Lord’s instruction to gather the fragments that remained. Interestingly, all the four gospels testify that all the eaters were satisfied: Mt. 14:20, Mk 6:42, Lk 9:17, Jn 6:12. Yes, our Lord is a satisfying and gracious provider. Laying aside the many messages that this scripture tells us, let us focus on one single advice:-  We should never waste, keep aside, or not use the many blessings that God has given us.

They are our talents, our time, our relationships, our resources, our education and more. None of our goodness must be wasted. But to be able to please God in this way, we must be willing to glorify Him knowing that everything He provides must be utilized completely so that we all can bear fruit for His name’s sake. Just as the disciples collected the leftover without throwing it away, we must be careful how we handle the blessings God gives us.

Friend, how graciously the Lord has satisfied you with His blessings. Do you know the reason why He provides more than enough? So that He might be glorified through you. Let us decide today to utilize 100% of the good things we have received, not wasting any of them. Remember, when we accept the truth that it is for His will and purpose that we are alive, nothing can stop us from giving Him the respect He deserves.

Many of us complain that we should receive more. Dear brother/sister, it is when we are faithful in little that He gives us more. Some also complain that we have received too much. In both ways, it is God who works through us. We need His strength, guidance and grace to make good use of our blessings. It is a pleasant feeling when we glorify our Redeemer. But if we try doing it by our own strength, we will never be satisfied from within.

May God lead us in complete satisfaction as we keep glorifying Him.
