Talking to Jesus

I guess this time I'm really lost

We talked yesterday..

You must have forgot.

 
Mom is really mad again

The last time we talked

I know I said amen


Katie she is only 4

she's  been sleeping for

2 hours on the floor


she's starting to get cold

I have nothing to cover her up

But Katie will be OK ..

Cause Katie she's really tuff


And Cody has been crying all day

He has bruises all over his face

We told mom we just wanted to play

But She just kept hitting him anyway

 
Me.. I'm OK.. It's this way everyday

Mom leaves us here every night

Locked in this dumb old closet

She's says we will be alright


Tonight it's really hot

And smells like beer

Why Katie is so cold

Really isn't very clear

I just hope you can make

This our last night to be in here


Cody.. He must of feel asleep

He hasn't said anything

Not one single peep

and now the only one up is me

And I'm getting pains

Right here  In my belly


I feel like I'm about to drown

So I'm gonna lay face-down

Where the air comes in

And Jesus tomorrow

We will talk again

I wrote this poem about a news story I listen to on the radio
I tried to tell the story from a kids perspective 

It is so sad to think that there are kids out there right now going through this very thing. I thought you captured the voice and feeling of a child very well. I don't know if you noticed, but the shape of the poem almost looks like a pregnant lady, sort of strange, huh? Great work! May God Bless you greatly.

G-d Bless the little children. I have tears. How can anyone hurt a child?
