What Did I Do? (pet abuse)

I came into the world
Such a furry little thing
Expecting life to be such fun
Like sunshine in the Spring!

I did not know all the rules
When I was just little bitty
But you would think a loving owner
Would have a bit of pity.

I must have been really bad
Worse than I ever knew
For isn't that the only reason
Why your "humans" would hit you?

I tried to make sure my mess
Was in the proper place
And always tried to keep a smile
On my puppy face....

But sometimes no matter how I tried
I seemed to do things wrong
And all I ever wanted
Was a place where I could belong!

I had almost given up
When an angel lady came
She took away my heartache
And gave me a brand new name.

Do you think that I'm in Heaven now
And have left that awful place
This angel cuddles me so sweetly
That I plant kisses on her face!

She says that she can't keep me
But I have had my taste of bliss
And throughout my lifetime
I will have sweet memories of this!

I hope the new lady likes me
I would love a nice place to stay
Where I could be happy and bark contentedly
And give loves and cuddles all day!

Our animals are such precious gifts from God. I don't understand how the world can treat them so badly sometimes. This one brought tears to my eyes.

all of my furries are adoptees...and they adopted me too. guess they felt sorry for me:)
