Fight for it Empty
PostSubject: Fight for it   Fight for it EmptySat Aug 13, 2011 10:18 pm

| Written by me: |

I walked along a silent street so still and deserted, as if I'm isolated from the world.
I stick my hands in my pockets and began to whistle, my steps slow and graceful.
The dark sky above glistening with beautiful stars,
held in the hands of the God Almighty.
His peaceful love washing over me in waves of Glory.
And with each step I fall even more madly in love with Him.
As the thoughts of my Maker blossom to life,
Swift movement catches my gaze.

I draw ever so near to the dark form ahead of me, and strangely enough I do not fear it.
"Hello"? I hear my voice call out the greeting, its depth filled with warmth.
The woman turned to face me, staring, her eyes wide with fear and shock.
Her clothing hardly stretched along her body, to expose her bare flesh.
Her dark skin pretty and well kept, her shoulder length black hair blowing in the gentle breeze.
Through human eyes she would be considered very beautiful, tempting to the touch.
But in those deep brown pools that clearly many men got lost in,
there was a black hole of emptiness trapped within, so hollow and barren.
And that is what stopped me in my tracks.

As she continued to stare at me in shock
A smile began to rise upon my lips, for she was my propose to be here.
"Why are you out here all alone?" I inquired, as a speeding random car veered by, giving me a moment of illumination to see what the woman clung to in her hand.
The hard metal edges pressed against the flesh of her palm, a gun, silver, and glistening in the starlight.

Her gaze drifted down to the weapon in her hand as she saw me notice it, her thumb easing, smoothing the rim with skilled slowness.
" I'm here to end this suffering, here to make the pain and guilt go away..."
And as her words filled the night air an ominous new form begin to appear, powerful and cunning.
Dark and ugly, its face twisted with evil amusement, the horns on its head sharp, and his black eyes lifeless with hate.
His clawed hands wrapped around the woman's arm, making her tighten the grip on the gun.
The devil's heartless smile arose as he breathed devious thoughts into her mind, encouraging her to end it all.
"I'm worthless, I've done rotten things, I'm trash, no one wants me, and I'm used and broken..."

The words stung my heart like a dagger, causing it to flood with compassion.
My gaze moved from the devil to the face of the woman, stepping closer I gently touched her hand with my own.
"Those are lies." My tone was firm, strong, dignified with sincerity.
"You are loved, loved by the Creator of Heaven and Earth, loved by a Holy God who wants you to turn to Him. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for that pain you are experiencing right now. He has taken it all away; the guilt, the sin, the sorrow, it's all gone!
You just have to lift it up to Him, cast it to Him and let go."
As she lifted her chin I saw the look in her eyes, a look of confusion which was blinded by the desire to hope.

Deceitful, violent curses hissed out of the forked tongue which was concealed in the churning darkness behind her.
Shaking her arm and making her tighten her grip on the weapon. " Shoot! Pull the trigger now! You don't deserve forgiveness! You are trash!"
He spat in her ear, anger raging in his tone, flaring in the blaze of hatred in his wicked eyes.
His claws raked across her flesh, blood pouring from her wrist. " Do it!"

My eyes narrow on the devil for a mere moment before looking to the woman's face.
" Jesus is calling you, wanting you to reach out to Him. He knows what you've been through, and He forgives every sin you've done. Not just the little ones but the big ones too. He forgives them all."
My hand slides down to the steel she grasped so firmly.
"Do not end your life this way, do not die with regret and guilt when you could live free, by just accepting Him right here and now. Toss the past away, let Him lock that door behind you."
Her body began shaking so violently that she swayed slightly, the weight of the gun now an anvil in her hands, weighing her down, urging her to pull the trigger.
Tears spilled down her cheeks. "I don't want to die..." she wailed like a frightened child in the dead of night.
"You don't have to die, not here and not now. Give me the gun and let me lead you to a wonderful Savior."

A life time rocketed by as I watched the battle between the girl and the demonic being,
An image that reminded me of a fight between a lioness and a tiger.
"I won't do it!" She finally shouted at the voices coming from the dark form as she released the weapon,
And I watched as it fell away like the shame of her sins.
"I want to know your Savior!" she cried, her voice crackling but yet it was filled with determination.
"NOO! YOU ARE TRASH! YOU DON'T DESERVE IT!" The devil shouted again at her, his fury could not be matched as he tried desperately to reclaim the soul he was losing grip of.

My gaze met his for what seemed like an eternity before I turned my eyes to the woman again.
"Repeat after me. Jesus, I ask You into my heart, I thank You for taking my past away, for forgiving me of my sins and making me new with You as my Savior. I welcome You in, take over and lead me to the Father. I need a new start, a new start with You as my Christ. Amen!"
Word for word she repeated after me, her eyes showering with new tears. reflecting the hope and joy that now resided within her.
And as she said 'Amen' I dropped the gun and stepped forward.
Wrapping my arms around her in a sisterly embrace, I whispered in her ear, "You aren't trash, you are a Princess of the Most High King."

Only then did I feel the wetness on my own cheeks,
my smile growing when I saw the change fully take place.
The Light of Jesus' took over the look in her beautiful eyes.
"I'm a princess of the Most High King!" she shouted joyfully.
Giggles filled the night air around us. "Thank you! Thank you for walking these streets with no fear!"
She hugged me this time, held on tight for a moment before she turned and walked away, singing praises to God and thanking Him for her new life.

And as I watched her disappear, my tears slowly began to stop. Turning I smirked at the sight of the devil as he stared angrily at me.
"Jesus is the victor, you know that. You may claim a few souls but you lose all the time! You lose in the end. Jesus reigns supreme, and no matter how hard you try, He will always win."
I bend down and pick up the gun. " You wont be needing this anymore." Turning I toss the gun into the emptiness, and the blackness consumes its metal.
With that I walk on, my whistles becoming a song of praise to my God.
My God, the One and Only, who saves.
My God, who loves unconditionally, forever and ever.
My God who is calling out for you!

Hello Christianonfire7,
I am very pleased to have you here. You're story is very moving and captivating. I loved it! A tip to spruce it up a smidge: Avoid adding extra words to a sentence that do not have to be there. Extra words trip the tongue up while reading it and break the trance you have the reader in. See the bolded words in your sentences that can be clipped:
You just have to lift it up to Him, cast it to Him and let go of it all."
"Do not end your life this way, do not die with regret and guilt when
you could live free of it all, by just accepting Him right here and now.

Other than that, superb job!

You write so well, sharing your talent with others by critiquing their work, I'm betting, would be a huge blessing to others on this site.

I'll do what I can to help out as many others as I can, for so many have done so for me to shape me into the writer I am today. God willing I can help others do the same.

And thank you for your encouraging words, I look forward to sharing more of my poems on here. :)
