The Father spared not His Own Son to rescue me
Jesus is my Lord, and I am not ashamed of Him
He endured the excruciating agony of the Cross
He bore the shame and the humiliation of my sin
He was mocked, beaten, and savagely scourged
Pure, Spotless Lamb of God; The Innocent One
Who am I that He for me would choose to die?
That the Father would give up for me His Son?
What manner of mercy and of grace is this?
Of such extravagant and unconditional love?
Such mysteries the human mind cannot fathom
Are the ways and the thoughts of God above
Isaiah 53:5-6 (NASB)
5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.
