The Liar
There is one who lies
Whose goal is to deceive
Those who might believe.
Falsely he utters untruths
Whispering to the unsuspecting
Using various means
From the old down to the teens
From teachers, politicians and even preachers,
This evil is passed along to slander and defame
And blaspheme God’s Holy Name!
Throughout the years he feels
Deceit he has perfected
But there are those who care
Those who offer daily prayer
Asking God to take control
And rescue those hurting souls.
We are to test the spirit
And not to listen with itching ears,
Not to be overcome with doubt and fears
But to stand firm and be bold
As on to God’s Hand we hold
We will at times come into trials
From which we must learn and grow
We must fine tune our ears
So that God’s voice we will always know.
We must not let evil overpower us
Or give in to those who would lead us astray
All of the evil one’s plans will be
Exposed and cast down one day.
Meanwhile trust in God
And pray not to be led astray
For if we have raced with men
And they have tired us out-
How can we run with the chariots?
