Hello Everybody!

Good evening to all of you!

My username is bookworm118, but you can just call me Amanda. I just found this site today, and was really intrigued by the concept. You see, a friend of my mom's told me a little while ago that I needed to connect with writers. You know, be able to talk to people who are just as passionate about writing as I am. I'm hoping that is what will happen here.

Yes, I am a Christian; have been since the age of four. That's also the time I started writing. Haha, yes, I did write at four years old. It was a poem, and it was... let us say... interesting. Well, the very least I can say for it is that it actually rhymed. I am 18 now, so yes, I am a teenager. Be very afraid. No, you don't need to be scared. I'm homeschooled, so that should make everything better.

Before I move on with my writing "experience", let me just say that I can be very critical when it comes to things I do. I promise that I won't be hard on anybody, it's just that I have a habit of being very negative about myself.

Ok, onto my writing. I think I've dabbled in most types of writing there is out there: short stories, poetry, songs, even a skit. I have not finished many actual stories, I admit. I haven't had the determination or the patience. Maybe this forum will encourage me to actually try.

Most of the short stories I have actually finished were for school. I did write and finish a story a couple of years ago, but looking back on it, I almost despise it. I can tell that I have improved, so I guess that's a good sign.

I've written about 10 poems in the past year. I have written some poetry off and on since I was 4, but I've really picked it up again recently. I like them because they're shorter, and less complicated than actual stories. I'll probably post one of my favorites for my first entry on here.

I think the type of writing I love most, besides poetry, is song writing. I haven't written many, but all the lyrics, and every note that comes together comes from God. I've tried writing songs without Him. I've never completed a single one. Every song I write is God speaking to me; whether it is to comfort, or to encourage.

I have only written one skit, and that was not necessarily "Christian". It was not sinful, by no means. It was just silly. I wrote a fake debate round poking fun at the topic for this year and the method of how we do things in my league.

I think that's enough for now. I've been writing too much. But, I guess that's what we're supposed to do here. I have not written any books. I am not a great writer. But I do want to become that someday. So, here's to the first step!
