| Can We Understand?
He would always
Raise eyebrows
Turn heads
Stop conversations
That's what he wanted
In his late middle-age
Long of jaw and thin
Years hard labour
Time clocks
Hurried orders
Unrecognized
A human resource.
But he had found a way
Laughing to himself
It was odd
Folks balked at it
But now space always
Opened up for him
In a crowd.
A new pain
Also arrives
Bathed in bitterness
Inner revulsion
From the silent stares evoked.
Nevertheless
Every weekend
He dons women's dresses
Shoes, coat, gloves.
And heads
For public places.
Note: I saw such a one two weeks ago at a fast-food restaurant. Everything inside me twisted in awkwardness. He got into his SUV and drove away.

| It is mental illness...you observed(a demon), where did the suv go and whom did he chance encounter, your comprehension ended there with a question mark and therein "lies" the flaw in your most eloquent messages? Perhaps even amongst the very Men's group you attend. Jesus can heal anyone. Something Michael "rhyma rhyma" once said to me over the phone that a priest he approached while out walking lost in thought said to him concerning a heart breaking matter he'd reached the end of his rope on. "My Son, just because you need to walk away, it does not mean that Jesus will"
"But...but are we not to imitate Christ?"
"Yes, that is our journey but we are not Christ..and even though we walk away, He does not."
Glory bumps for sure...and the source of wisdom very clear!

| The rousing song says "God is God, and I am not".
But I squint and keep on looking still, Anthony.
Certainly you are not telling me that God's covenant promises come like a puppy-dog response on demand. UH..Uh not the Sovereign One and His sovereign Plan.

| When we are in the "habit" of twisting our necks to see the wrecks on the shoulder of life's roads, we lose sight of what is looming right in front of our noses. Periphreal is important and needed, but not to a degree that takes your eyes completely off of the road ahead of you. One wreck begets another. Sometimes the spectacle of flashing lights is on the opposite side of the road heading in the opposite direction.
BTW...why not take a moment to "introduce yourself", you seem to have jumped right in without the common courtesy of a proper introduction (oversight?).
Matthew 23:6 "They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues"

| In your own words Doug Blair:
"Friend On Eagle's Wings: Something got missed and I knew it. But thanks anyway for the reply.
You know, I have spent time on Christian Forums. Another site. I have been disappointed there with the plague of "oneupsmanship". When I posted my concern under the title "Something Smells Badly at Christian Forums", I got an official warning from administrration. Almost as if they enjoyed the constant fray. I am tired, really tired of the competitive, showy tendencies in Evangelical Christendom.
I find CCW to be a refreshing opportunity where one can still edify and be edified. Thanks...Doug"
I don't quite understand what your idea of "refreshing" is. Refreshing for whom?
