| Midian
You sensed my power
Even when you balked
At the assignment.
Had to remove you
For a time
Shepherding exercise
With the wayward and unruly.
Learning patience
Desert harshness
And the leaning way.
Much too impetuous, you
But I saw the big picture
And when you stopped
Puffing out your chest
Time to give you my rod.
MY rod, Son
For the Kings to yield
For the waters to part
For the journey to start
For the people to heed
And miracles to feed
Through one yielded
Tender of sheep.

| Nice to hear from you Thena. I often think of Moses stuck 40 years out in the desert convinced that he was not God's man for the hour. Toiling in monotony. Wondering about the plight of his people, and all the while God was measuring his "pulse" for the right moment to act...Doug |

| I love it when writers bring the Bible alive for the modern day mind. Nice work. |
