Each step was a struggle,
Hard to breathe and sometimes believe,
I often forgot what I was doing,
Or why I was even doing it,
But in my weakest moments,
I'd remember the greatness of You.
From the moment the earth was formed,
Your Glory Reigned on High,
Even when You were stubborn,
In Your jealous rage You wanted to destroy Your people,
But one man would humbly come before You,
He'd fast, He'd pray, and You would relent,
You'd pour out blessings for his faithfulness.
I kneel, I pray, I hold strong,
Tempted by the bystanders,
I hold firm to Your promises,
That 'If thy seek Me and follow Me,
I will be shown to you.'
For it's our cries You hear,
Within our trust and faith,
You come to our rescue,
To fulfill the promises to Your people.
