My Comfort

I have friends who are hurting today-
How I wish I could take that pain away
And make them smile again
By words that I would say.
I have friends who are ill
With physical pain so strong
Whose bodies are weary
And for relief they long...
And I have friends who have lost their joy
Because of the way the world is now
And who see no way out
Who are filled with fear and doubt..
I cannot take away the emotional pain,
Cannot heal those illnesses and diseases
I cannot make our country turn around
From the direction it is going
But I know the One Who can
And I find my comfort in the knowing....

Amen! Sister. Only One can make those changes and comfort us through the hard times.
