What kind of research data are you searching for? Hard research is when you are searching for specific evidence like scientific or objective research that can give proven facts, statistics and measurable results. However, on the other hand, soft research is when you are looking for opinions, or certain topics with good descriptions. Or sometimes you might need both types of research to make strong statements, just make sure to give credit to the expert for any facts if you’re writing a non-fiction book.
Here are some great websites for hard and soft research:

  • Consumer Reports (Soft)
  • UK Politics (Soft)
  • Epinions (Soft)
  • ZDnet (Soft)
  • About.com (Soft)
  • Academic Journals (Hard)
  • Scientific or Medical (Hard)
  • Archived News (Hard)
  • Broad Research (Hard)
