The Cross or Crucifix Empty
PostSubject: The Cross or Crucifix    The Cross or Crucifix EmptyTue May 14, 2013 11:51 pm

Some believe that it is wrong for a Christian to wear a crucifix because Jesus is depicted as dead on it when he rose from the dead and conquered sin for our sanctification. Others believe a crucifix is a good reminder of what our savior did for us. After all, non-Christians wear crosses all the time because the cross means absolutely nothing to them. What do you think?

I choose not wear either, mostly because I don't like jewelry, I wear my wedding ring proudly but other than that, I'm good. The cross and the crucifix are the same to me, they represent sacrifice and hardship, things that are a big part of life for Christians and non-Christians alike. HE paid an outrageous price for us and I say wear it proudly either way, but represent it the way it deserves, not as an idol or a fashion statement but a reminder of all HE has done for this broken world,

Take him down from Crosses
around necks,
from hallowed halls
and cobwebbed walls

How often do we depict
a departed loved one
as a framed picture on a wall
or on a table
at rest in a coffin

Yes...
he died for our sins
on a Roman cross
what part of "He rose again"
has been lost?

That Cross has long rotted
and been reclaimed by the land
Our Lord lives!
In all His Glory
seated at the right hand
of The Father
unfettered by splinters

Well said brother, you are a wordsmith with the gift to get right to a point and convict the reader, in a positive way.
