That can touch the souls of hurting men
That can stir up your words within them
Make them want to begin again!

Lord make me a powerful source
Of wisdom and of strength
If you ever need an earthly hand
Lord, let me be that link!

Lord, make me a writer
Send me Your wisdom from above
Fill my heart, Lord, with compassion
And fill my soul with Love!

Lord make of me a writer
Give me words and wisdom so profound
That from my lips and pencil Lord
Written pearls might abound!

Years have passed from the day I prayed
And the Lord seemed not to have heard
Until I realized at last
Man hears the simple word!

I need not use long fancy words
That one can't understand
God can use the simplest terms
When He directs your hand!
