The small child trapped in a well
Saw nothing but darkness and
Felt nothing but dampness…
Then a single light shone from above
And she knew she was saved.
The young soldier in the ward confined to his bed
With bandages wrapped about his head
Saw nothing but darkness and
Felt nothing but sadness…
Then a single light shone as the gauze was removed
And he knew he could see.
The elderly grandfather lay on the floor of his home
So close to the door
Saw nothing but darkness and
Felt nothing but emptiness…
Then a single light shone as his son lifted him up
And he knew he was not foresaken.
A young mother to be was dismissed to the stables
Where she bared down with eyes shut and
Saw nothing but darkness and
Felt nothing but pain…
Then a single light shone and for her
And for us by the Blessing of God
Everything changed.
