Dear Brothers and Sisters
I am a 29yr old white female from South Africa (born and raised). My first language is Afrikaans (so I will definitely receive a lot of crit on my grammar and South African “slang”, I’m sure!) and I am happily married with two fur-babies (both Staffies) whom I love very much.
I've spent the last 20 years in amateur theatre acting, directing, producing, dancing and writing. My name is Leana which means "My God has answered me" (appropriate as my mom begged God to give her a child to love – I am the first born). I also go by the nickname Lea which means "Messenger". I believe that describes my calling in life: to be God’s messenger to His people. To be so close to Him and in tune with His Spirit that I will receive His Word for His children and then present it to them in the form of performing arts.
Up to this point I have not “published” any of my work on line as I have felt unqualified to do so. I wanted to study drama after school but my parents didn’t allow me to, so I became an Optometrist instead. With the help of a very supporting husband I am free to explore my passion for the arts now and even though I have no degree in writing or no diploma in performance I am venturing out into the world in faith that God will direct the steps of the righteous.
This forum is a marvellous God sent discovery! What a great initiative to create such a platform and safe environment to exhibit, brainstorm and develop our skills. I look forward to reading your works and sharing mine. Let the edification begin!
