The Rock

THE ROCK

We have positioned ourselves
High upon this Rock faith has built
Gazing up
At the wonders of the Heavens

By Your unfailing love O, Lord
We abide within these walls,
For You, are the corner stone
Upon which, the foundation
our Salvation is laid.

The darkness conspires against these walls at night,
Outside the hungry lion prowls,
Whose dark shadow lurks beyond this safe sanctuary.
The evil one seeks to devour us–
To bring us to wreck and ruin, to place us at siege
Whose evil schemes are to deceive, to break our spirit and
to separate us from Your unfailing Love dear Lord.

Where do I look to, for my hope?
I will look to the heavens to where my Hope is,
To You, the song of my salvation, my bridge to everlasting
To You I will lift up my voice and give praise!

"The Lord is my rock,
My fortress and my deliverer
My God is my rock,
In whom I take refuge,
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation,
My stronghold."         (Psalm 18:2)

Yea, this fortress shall never fall by any evil scheme
For You are with me always,
My hope, my strength,
My shield and sword in whom I trust.

And in the morning You bring the sun to rise and shine
On everything that is good, that fears you, and loves You
And sings praises to Your name!
For You O, Lord orchestrate every song of life
O, glimpse of eye from heaven
You see all there is to see
And inside every heart
You have placed a yearning to love and to be loved.

And from winters chill to the blossoms of spring
You turn the seasons from pale to splendor
Your breath brings the sweetest scents of lilac in lure –
For my ever-longing thirst never weans.

Meadows wandering in stillness once in windless frill,
Now dance for joy, in rapture, singing praises to Your Name!
Welcoming Your glory and Your presence, the coming of the King!

"By the word of the Lord were the heavens made
Their starry host by the breath of His mouth"        (Psalm 33:6)
By Your hand, from dust all things came into being!

Who but You O, Lord make wise the weary?
Who gives hope to the hopeless?
and lifts up those humble in heart?
Whose hope is in You and in You alone!

And who but You governs the day and night?
Who unfolds the dawn
and sets the moon spinning on His footstool?
Who makes the earth tremble with His Voice?
Who gives the spirit his wings to soar free like an eagle?

Who but You could create the wonders of the heavens–
The sun, the moon, the stars above?
You know...every...heart...by name.
By Your love
You gather Your brood under the shelter of Your wings!

Who but You O, Lord, could be this rock on this sacred ground I firmly stand?
Who gives courage by faith this armor, this shield to extinguish
the flaming arrows of the evil one, casting out all fear?

O, glimpse of eye from heaven You see all there is to see
O, faithful One there is no one in all the realms like You!
There is no one more worthy of my praise!
There is no one, more worthy of our praise!

You are my rock and I will not be shaken!
You are My Rock –
and
I
  will
  not
  be
  Shaken!
