Mommy, I've Been Good Today

Mommy, I've been so good today
May I go outside to play?
I fed the dog
And walked the cat
I opened the cage for brother's rat.
I think I've done my good deeds
For the day
And I must go out and play.
I cleaned up the jelly on the table
Both grape and apple
(Does that make it grapple?)
I put your clothes in the washing machine
(They all came out pink-but oh so clean).
I dusted the tables and the shelves as well
I think I used the hairspray
But don't think anyone can tell...
I'm been so awfully, very good
But I will help you some more

Sometimes as an adult I feel this way
That I've messed up
And should not get to go outside and play
When a grumpy face I show
Or a cross word I say
But I'm so eternally grateful
That God loves me anyway!
