Our Questions
So many times in days long past
My Mom and I pondered
What Heaven would be like, at last.
Long hours at night we chatted
Until our eyes had to close in sleep
With questions on our minds
That we wished we could ask
As we went about each daily task.
But we knew we would have to wait
Until God welcomed us inside that Pearly Gate.
Mom left this earth too soon
(It seemed that way to me)
But I’m sure she was perfectly on schedule
For her home in eternity.
I wonder if she looks at earth
And each day sees my love-
Are there places to view those left behind
From God’s balcony up above?
I’m in awe to think she knows the answers
To the questions we had back then
And I know I too will learn these things
Although I know not when.
