Some words are heard on tv
And some are heard on cable
Some are ok for playing golf
But not for kids at the dinner table.
Some words are used by grownups
To show shock and dismay
But not to be tossed around
By kids at school or play.
I sometimes have mistaken
One kind for the other
When I’ve repeated something
Said by my older brother.
Tonight I said a word
That I thought was quite profound
But it was greeted in silence by Mom
And my father wore a frown.
My brother giggled in delight
And my sister hid her face
I’m not really sure just what it means
But I think I’m in disgrace!
